Georgia high school football star QB Robbie Roper, 18, dies after surgery

Dec. 22 (UPI) — Robbie Roper, a star highschool quarterback from Roswell, Ga., died Wednesday, his household introduced on Twitter. He was 18.

Sources instructed the Atlanta Journal-Structure, Marietta Day by day Journal and CBS Atlanta that Roper died from issues after a routine shoulder surgical procedure.

“We simply wished to replace everybody on Robbie,” the Roper household mentioned in an announcement posted to Roper’s Twitter account. “Robbie simply handed. He was the most important pleasure to our household.

“We’re happy with the younger man he has turn out to be. He will likely be missed by his family and friends dearly.”

Roper, a 6-foot-5 senior from Roswell Excessive Faculty, was ranked because the No. 202 quarterback for the category of 2022, in response to 247Sports.

He drew collegiate curiosity from Florida, Morgan State, Morehead State, Western Carolina and Massachusetts.

“Robbie was an unimaginable younger man and made a huge effect on his teammates, classmates, and the neighborhood,” the school’s athletic department tweeted Wednesday.

“No. 5 won’t ever be forgotten.”

The Roper household mentioned they may announce a date and time for funeral preparations later.
