Ex-Carolina Panthers owner, founder Jerry Richardson dies at 86

March 2 (UPI) — Jerry Richardson, who based the Carolina Panthers in 1993 and owned the NFL franchise till 2018, has died, the Panthers introduced Thursday. He was 86.

The Panthers mentioned Richardson died Wednesday evening in Charlotte, N.C. No reason behind loss of life was supplied, however Richardson beforehand handled coronary heart points.

Richardson’s household mentioned he died “peacefully” at his dwelling.

“Jerry Richardson’s contributions to skilled soccer within the Carolinas are historic,” Panthers homeowners David and Nicole Tepper mentioned in a press release. “With the arrival of the Panthers in 1995, he modified the panorama of sports activities within the area and gave the NFL followers right here a group to name their very own.
